The Greater Mummaloo Project consists of two mining licenses, five exploration licenses and two miscellaneous licenses covering an area of 670km². The majority of Top Iron’s exploration activities have been focused on the Mummaloo (M59/744) and Hong Kong Reward (M59/747) tenements. Further explorations have been made at Dragon (E59/1980), Wool Shed (E59/1967), Warriedar (E59/1966, E59/1723, E59/1696) and Yidby Hills (E59/20179) tenements.
Previous completed drilling programs at Greater Mummaloo have identified a 132 million tonnes of JORC inferred resource. Top Iron has also determined that a target grade of 56% Fe concentrate can be produced from natural sized material after magnetic separation.
The project is made up of CID pisolitic maghemite deposit. Importantly, the identified JORC resource is located very close to surface and requires minimal extraction activity.
Top Iron made its first shipment of iron ore from the Mummaloo Project on 29 March 2015.
Top Iron initially plans to produce 1.5 million tonnes of iron ore per annum for supply to export markets, with the potential to increase production to 3.0 million tonnes per annum.
